Coffee Old Fashioned


  • 2 oz bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 1-2 teaspoon TryBrewed coffee concentrate
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Orange or lemon peel for garnish
  • Ice


  1. Place the sugar cube in a glass.
  2. Add 2-3 dashes of Angostura bitters to the sugar cube.
  3. Muddle the sugar cube with the bitters until it's well dissolved.
  4. Add the coffee concentrate to the glass.
  5. Pour the bourbon or rye whiskey into the glass.
  6. Fill the glass with ice.
  7. Stir the mixture well to combine and chill the ingredients. Stirring helps to dissolve the sugar and mix the flavors.
  8. Express the citrus peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a twist. This releases the citrus oils.
  9. Optionally, drop the citrus peel into the glass or discard it after expressing the oils.
  10. Garnish with an additional coffee bean or twist of citrus peel if desired.
